A Whole Year!

Well I have neglected thus blog before I got it started, haven't I. It has been a year and a day since my last post. So what has happened in that time. I'd say a fair bit.....

To start with thus year has been a pretty hard one for me and my family. In February my mum passed away very suddenly of a heart attack. This hit me pretty hard, as expected, and is still something that affects me now. In April we received some happier news in the form of a positive pregnancy test! The next seven or so months were a challenge as I do not do pregnancy well and was very ill all the way through, right up until the end when our son, Finley Cade, was born on the 30th November, three weeks before his due date, in a very quick and dramatic fashion.

But despite all that, I still managed to craft! It was a slow start and there was even a short time, of a couple of months, where I didn't touch any of my stash but by about August time I started to get my mojo and my crafting obsession came back in full force.

I've wandered more into the home decor side this year. For Christmas I made some cards (and didn't buy any!) but mostly I made two different items. First was my Christmas baubles, and second my Christmas Eve box. I had quite a response for them and spent a large amount of time filling orders for both. I also designed the logo for the Leezziecraft name.

So a pretty productive year! For 2016 my aim is to design at least one card design for each popular festival as well as work more in the home decor side. I also plan to develop this blog, add tutorials, design pieces and further stories in my crafting journey.

Until next time, happy crafting!

A first Christmas

This Christmas has been a first for quite a few things but most notably for my daughter Lacey.  Another first this Christmas is me in crafting mode, my plan was to make all my Christmas cards myself (and wow do I have the stash to do it) but unfortunately as I only started crafting in October and nit properly till November then I only managed two cards. But next year things will be different! So here is my first ever Christmas card!

I used toppers and papers free from a magazine (unfortunately I forget which one) and all are from Hunkydory, then the frames are made with my new teal grand calibur and tattered lace dies.

As I am still learning any feed back is so appreciated. Also will be submitting into the challenges below

Introduction of sorts

Hello, Just a little intro to tell you who I am and what this blog is about. I'm Lizzie and I am one half of The Leezzie team, along with my darling partner Lee.

Leezziecraft came about due to my interesting papercraft as a place to share my creations with you lucky folk. I am pretty new to paper-crafting and still learning....well everything! But I am pretty excited about my new hobby and look forward to sharing it with anyone who wants to listen. Xx
